Recorded 01/02/2000 live to 4-track minidisc in our rehearsal space/shed, mixed 01/04/2000.

The songs were written over a day or two. Untitled III was a full improv. At that point we'd done one 4-track cassette demo and two sets of recordings at a local studio. The studio recordings never sounded right. *This* is very close to what we heard in the jam room; raw, in the red, unpolished.

The influences are easy to spot - Kyuss, Black Flag, The Misfits, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Slayer, Danzig, eyehategod, Buzzoven. I'd been listening to a lot of The Stooges and The Jesus Lizard and you can sort of hear it if you squint and listen sideways.

I don't think we ever released this beyond sending it to some tape (cd-r at that point) trading friends. I remember sending a copy to Jonah from Milligram and getting a very enthusiastic and supportive note back, saying that they were moving in a similar direction and it was good to hear other people on the same wavelength. They were working on the album that would become This Is Class War. It was a hell of a compliment.
